Pretty little Liers

AnalysisPretty little liars opens with a close up scene that portrays Hannah (the character who is supposed to be dead.)  A close up is used to show her eyes. Also, with the close up the audience can see that her eyes aren't moving. This helps emphasising that she isn't alive anymore. This scene is followed up by another close up that shows lip gloss being put on her lips. Her lips seem really pale, this reminds the audience that she is dead. To continue, in the eye close up and lips close up, there is her face in the background. Her face is really pale and seems like it hasn't been taken care off. There's then a close up of her feet. In this close up there's someone tying her shoes. Her feets seem dead aswell. There's then a close up on her hair being curled. Followed up by a close up showing someone putting nail vanish on her finger nails. Using Variety this allows the audience to see a close up of the characters and their expressions clearly.
The title sequence comes 1 min 20 seconds into the scene. I really like this as the audience are not shown the title sequence at the beginning of the first series, instead they have a scene which creates tension and suspense and then they introduce to us the protagonists who inevitably are going to resolve the situation.

Strange diegetic sounds of creeks are heard and close ups are used to help emphasise the characters emotions and possibly allow audiences to feel sympathy or relate to the characters and their emotions of fear. There are many cuts used and they are quite fast cuts and seem to be getting slightly faster as non-diegtic music of a violin note is being stretched sounding louder and louder to create and emphasise fear in both characters and audiences. This violin sound of getting louder and louder could be use to relate to Barthes enigma and action codes, it could connote or foreshadow an event to occur, we as the audience will assume actions to occur and feel a sense of adrenaline as the violin gets louder or as the note gets stretched further and further

When Alison says “Friends share secrets, that’s what keeps us close” we are shown a shot/reverse shot of another characters facial expression, she is dressed in all blue, light blue, which connotes that she is a calm character but the shot/reverse shot and her facial expression connotes that she may have something to hide. Alison then tells one of the characters “Drink up!” and this character is still holding a torch, which she is pointing at Alison, this connotes that maybe she is shining the light on Alison and will reveal her dark secrets

The continuity of these few shots is at a good standard. It makes it seem that this is taking place with no stops in between. There's then a medium shot showing the four main characters looking around in a upset look. The camera then closes up on one of the girls as she puts her finger on her lips as if she's telling the audience to not say anything. There's then a small scene to show the programme's name. I think that this is a very good opening that catches the audience quickly. It makes the audience want to discover what is this big sceret and who is the girl that has died.

Target Audience: target audience for pretty little liers would be aimed at teenagers from the age of 16-25 becuase pretty little lier's would appeal to adults and teenagers as well because some of the narratives are about relationships, problems at school ect therefore adults/teenagers can relate to it.

Vampire dairies

Analyses:  The dialogue used to say this is diegetic as it's added in during editing as a voice over. The music used in it is the stereotypical backing track for a crime drama production as it's quite dramatic and fast therefore going with the pace of a crime drama production. In other words, the backing track for the title sequence is parallel sound.

This opening opens with Nina Dobrev (playing Elena) giving a distant look, to show this a close-up is used.  The colours used in thr background are dark colours such black and grey. She slowly moves her head up as her hair begin to move slightly. There's then a hand that suddenly shows a hand thats caressing her, possibly a male's hand. There's then a scene showing the same character form the first scene, only now she looks more gentle and insecure. A close up is also used for this.

This is followed up by a medium shot showing the main female character running up from a hill. This shot slowly turn into a close-up. Then there's an extreme close up that shows the character's face only now with two male hands caressing her face. This helps the audience now that there is two men involved with this female. There's then a medium shot showing Paul Wesley playing Stefan. This medium shot zooms in and turn into a close up as his name is shown on the side.

scene where they showing Ian Samoholder. The same as  Paul's scene we see a medium shot that slowly zooms in and becomes a close up. His name is also shown on the side. There's then a scene showing all of the characters in the programmes  walking up a hill. This shot slightly changes as most of the characters vanish. This was done to show that some characters are more important than others. There's then a close up to show Jeremy as his name is shown on the side. After him, there's a shot of Katerina Graham. After showing her there's a scene that is close up of her hands holding a bottle in her hands. There's then a scene showing her facial expression. This helps the audience know that there is something to do with magic. The ending scene is a medium shot showing Elena sitting with Stefan.

A crane shot of a car driving is used to show characters are travelling through the woods, and as this is being shown straight cut edits are used along with a whip pan. Sound bridge is used after the, voiceover stops speaking, of the music in the car, the audience hears this before we see a shot inside the car of an innocent couple driving along, and this creates a smooth transaction showing the relationship between the shots. The fog appears suddenly which is not normal and when they get out of the fog they hit a man, the woman shouts in panic, which shocks the audience.
MisFit

Analyses: The two protagonists are well lit and the type of lighting used is high-key lighting. This is important as this type of light makes the characters seem important and the fact that we are able to see them properly means that they have some kind of significant role in the series. If they were shown in the dark with low-key lighting, this would represent the characters as villains in terms of the film as they would look more mysterious. This would therefore confused the audience and would not be a very effective scene.

Misfit series relates to Todorov's theory which is that every great movie or television show will consist of a beginning equilibrium which is followed by a disequilibrium  which is finally resolved and a new equilibrium is formed. This Tv show follows Todorov's theory as in each episode, there starts off with an equilibrium of some sort; which is disrupted by an antagonist; but in the end is resolved by the protagonist. In the title sequence, the backing track is the well known tune for the Tv show therefore being iconographic music for this Tv show.
The opening of misfits opens with a medium shot of a one of the main male characters with a cigarette. The shot cuts and chages into a close up of the main female character tying her hair up almost as if she is getting ready for something. There's than a shot showing another of the main male characters also preparing himself.  There's than two 2 close up shots presenting two  of the other characters in Misfits. There's than a medium shot showing all the characters that have been presented at this stage. There's than a shot of all of the characters wearing heroic costumes. There's than a shot of one of the characters that was presented before possibly on a skateboard or rollers. There's than a cut and a shot showing all of the characters wearing orange garments and picking up trash from the ground. There's than few shots showing moments of Iwans character.

There's than few shots showing the character of Lauren Socha. The same shots are used to present Nathan Stewart's character. The same is used for Antonia Thomas's character. Shots of the programme are used to present Robert Sheehan's character. There's than a shot showing all of them together again Along with the sound, another part of the mise en scene; used in the clip which i'm going to analysis; is the lighting used.

Target Audience: would be 16-25 year olds, this is because it does include some adult content such as sexual scenes, swearing ect therefore it would be suitable for this age group. Also, Misfits connects to the target audience as the characters are in the program are at the similar age, therefore they could relate to some of the problems a specific character is going through.

Revenge
0

Analyses:  This opening opens with the main blonde female character getting water  over her feet. There's then a close up on her hands caressing a letter. This could show that there is mystery that takes place in the programme. There's than a scene that shows the main character from a low angle shot. This is used to show her dominance. There's than a scene that shows the protagonist face on the side, a close up is also used for this. There's than a quick change of scene that portrays fire in her eyes almost like she is hungry for revenge, an extreme close-up is used for this. There's than introductions to many of the characters in the programme. At the end of the video there are small scenes showing the main female character. Medium shots and close- up are used for this as we can look at the vb features. The video finished the exact same way it started, with the protagonist standing in front of the beach. For this scene, the protagonist is wearing white clothes that shows her purity and angelic character. This is a contrast of the scene where we see fire and flames in her eyes.
Also, the fact that the on screen text is bold and in capital letters emphasizes the words that little bit more which makes the seem important to the viewers

Hollyoaks

Analyses: This opening opens with a close up on a female character's mouth as she takes a bite off a cherry that's of the same colour of her lips. In this cherry are the words 'Hollyoaks' this is to the programme. There's then a long shot of this building with many female's and two of these are over the a guy. The long shot zooms in and turns into a medium shot, a close- up and an extreme close-up.  There's then change of scene showing a female character winking at the camera. She takes of her jacket and throws it at the camera. There's a quick change of scene showing a male character. To show this a medium shot is used that slowly turns into a close up. The screen than shows another female character who seems to be dusting things of her jacket. A medium shot is used for this., The scene than changes into a male- character dancing to a beat, a medium shot is used for this scene. There's than another change of scene that shows a male character with flag cape that show's the American flag. This could be used to show the patriarchy of this character. There's than a medium shot showing a female character wearing angles wings. This shot could be used to show that this character angelic. There's than a medium shot of an male character, this shot zooms in and becomes a close-up. His wearing a black leather jacket, this shows his danger. There's than a medium shot showing a female in a magazine, this could show that she is the fashion type. At the end of show there's the title of the programme. This opening is essential as it's mainly used to introduce the main characters and I personally think that the continuity of this opening is excellent as everything looks like it took place at once.
Target Audience: I think the target audience for Hollyoaks would be 15-30year olds because, some of the narrative does appeal to an adults as well as teenagers too. For instance, some of the narrative include aspects of love, relationships, family problems, friendship, real life problems ect therefore adults and teenagers could relate to this.

III Manors Trailer

III Manors Trailer

  1.  What are the typical codes and conventions of film trailers - what information is usually provided? Trailer consists of the director’s name, taglines, release dates, companies who fund and distribute to the film ,reviews (people’s comments) , main stars,  the film’s title, voice over this is to show us the dominant character in the movie/trailer , enigma codes which leave the audience eager to find out what happens in the movie. Each of these are significant as they help tell us what the films about , this information gives the audience the background story .
  2.   How are trailers distributed?
  3.   How does Ill Manors use trailer conventions? Institution information - production company, studio. Credit block- is shown at the end of the a trailer, which has all the information , this usually shows the name of the actors/actresses and relese dates. voice over-  usually  voice of a man. it could suggest that male voices are more powerful which could show the idea of society being patriarchal. Names of the main stars - are shown on the screen early on in the trainer which allows the audience to known who is starring in the film. Important information shown at the end of a trailer. The music is essential in trailers as it can suggest the genre style .Many enigma codes are used, which keep the audience wanting to go and watch the film. Reviewers quotes are usually shown in some trailers which is significant as it allows the audience to know if the film is worth watching or not.
  4.  Who is the target audience? Does it have a unique selling point or use particular techniques to appeal to the audience? Consider the way the scenes are edited together – does the trailer give away any clues about the narrative? Are the main stars visible in the trailer? Is there information about the director of the film? Is there information about the release date? Is a narrator’s voice-over used? In my opinion, the film is targeting young adults from the starting age of 18-34, the film contains a lot of violence, sexual and drug taking, even from the trailer as audience, we can tell that the film is going to include those three main things as it is a 18 certificate. Also, from watching the trailer the psychographic group which I think would be interested in watching the movie would be strugglers and reformers. This is because, struggler seek escape. Moreover, montage editing is used to show the audience  that the film has a multi-strand narrative which means it will not be focusing on just one main narrative. The fact that flashbacks are shown in the trailer could suggest, that in some parts of the film the flashbacks are significant in reflecting back on each character. The main stars appear in the trailer which is effective in showing the audience who they are. Furthermore, there is information about the director "From the visionary artist Plan B" which is significant in portraying to the audience that he directed and produced Ill Manors. Also there is a voice over  Plan B which is very significant. Finally there is important information such as the release date and the name of the film is shown at the end of the trailer. This is effective as it makes the audiences aware of what’s going on and when it’s coming out for anyone who is interested in the film.
  5.  How has the genre of the film been represented through characters, settings, lighting, colour, music, camera shots/movements/angles and editing? The genre of the film is a teen urban drama  we can see this through the characters through their actions, lifestyle and costumes. The males characters  in the trailer are wearing track suit bottoms and hoodies and these are stereotypical in connoting young adults as being criminals. Furthermore, the music used throughout the film is urban which clearly related to the genre as well because, that type of music is mostly associated with teenagers. Non-Digetic music is used of Plan B, which highlights to the audience he is the narrative of the film. This is made clear through the lyric of what Plan B is saying in the trailer "I am the narrator let me take you back and fourth.."  . Furthermore, there is more than one setting in the trailer, such as a house, police station and an alley. This is because, for every different setting there are different characters which could suggest that the film follows a complex narrative which is significant to the audience as it confuses us.  The fact that the camera movement focuses on different characters in the film suggests that each character has a different story to as why they have gotten to the place they are now.

Ill Manors Film Research

I'II Manors Film Research ( case study )

Research all the Institutions involved in the production of Ill Manors. List them with a summary of what their contribution to the film was.

Prior writing the script for Ill Manors. The script for Ill Manors was partly based on actual events and stories Drew heard when he was young, such as a woman prostituting herself in order to repay a drug dealer. The film had been in development for three years prior to filming, however Drew struggled to secure finance for his film. ll Manors was greenlit for production in 2009 as part of the Film London Microwave scheme. it had to be financed by the Film london, BBC film and supported by Skillset, The UK film council and the mayor london.

For the film, Drew hired a mixture of both experienced and inexperienced actors, whilst several cast members already knew the director personally before they were cast in their roles.
Riz Ahmed, who had previously recorded "Shifty" with Plan B, requested himself to play the lead role Aaron after reading the script.

The main casting process for the film took place during August 2010 with several cast members being young unknown actors from the
East End of London,  such as Ryan De La Cruz who was discovered when the crew visited Rokeby School in Canning Town, London. Principal photography began on 1 September 2010 at 3 Mills Studios, London and filming lasted for four weeks on location in London, England.  During production of the film, it was reported that the cast and crew ran into trouble with youths in Forest Gate, London and production was interrupted whilst a laptop containing the film's dailies had to be recovered after being stolen by a drug addict.

Drew claimed that he faced prejudice from some crew members whilst on set, however he also noted that "there was some people that really believed in my vision and gave me all the support I needed.

Editing of the film began in December 2010, however post-production of the film was delayed due to Plan B performing on
The Defamation of Strickland Banks Tour during 2010 and 2011.

In order to raise funds for the completion of the film's post-production, the distribution rights to Ill Manors were sold to
Revolver Entertainment in April 2011 and Plan B delayed the release date of his planned third studio album The Ballad of Belmarsh until after Ill Manors was released.
How much Ill Manors cost to produce (its budget)

It had a small Budget of  £100,000 but made nearly 5 times this at the UK box office .

How was Ill Manors funded?

The Film was funded by Creative Skillset- Creative Skillset’s contribution to the scheme’s crucial training, mentoring and talent development is key to ensuring that the film makers have the right support and guidance to achieve this.

What is the target audience for Ill Manors?

The movie shows everyday life and struggle of London’s teenagers. The movie is aimed at mostly at teenage/ adults aged 18-25 and for both british and american group of people, that like to watch movies that reflect every day issues. Working class is more likely to watch this type of movie because it represents a “normal” life. The reason for that is I watched the movie and from what I observed the movie is aimed at these groups of people, because its more of an boyish movie that has some violence and a lot of strong language and some sex scenes. From the psychographic point of view I think that the movie is aimed a these groups:

Mainstreamers-because it is a everyday movie and everyone could afford to go and see it and relate to it
Explorers-because this movie is different than any other films it offers more drama and more action than a standard British film.
Reformers-because these people are open minded, they like to explore new things.
Media consumption point of view is fairly simple this movie is mainly aimed at teenagers, and if you research the internet you will find that it was mostly teenagers that went to see the movie because of all the hype surrounding it. This movie was also certified as a 15 so it was possible for young people to go
.

Who is the main distributor of Ill Manors?

Its advertising ( distribution) campaign had to be targeted at specific niche audiences: check whether adverts appeared on digital radio stations kiss FM, digital satellite channel dave, comedy central, and the sun/ news of the world.

The main two distributors of ILL Manors was ....
  • Revolver Entertainment
  • Benelux Film Distributors

  • How was Ill Manors promoted?

Viral marketing helped III Manors make money, overcoming the mass American Film industry For example, their website gave the audience easy access to information about the film, was packed with music video clips, Trailers and pictures and downloads which makes the audience feel more involved in the film.

The downloads are a way of free advertising, for example if someone has the background on their phone or on ring tone, friends might ask where it was from and it would help spread information about the film through word of mouth.

Compare this with a big budget blockbuster. What are the main similarities and differences?

III Manors Film is a low budget film meaning that is doesn't have the high-quality of equipment compared to a big budget blockbuster such as Inception. This is because, of course, the budget of the film is low, they need more funding to produce a high-quality film.

A big budget film would have more well known actors, a lot more high-quality action and would have the best people they could find to help produce the film (who are also very well known and expensive to work with).

Similarities would be that both budget films would be able to produce something targeted to a large audience and could possibly have similar audiences.

How does the trailer for Ill Manors hook audiences into the narrative and pose questions that the film will answer? Identify 3 ways/techniques.

Enigma-  throughout the trailer there is a slight enigma, the audience don't get the full picture of what is going on and are therefore pulled into the film, the audience get a glimpse of the film but aren't really told about the whole story, very few clues are given to the audience about the whole story and that could make them want to find out more.

Identity - the audience can feel a sense of identity with the main character, the protagonist, they see him topless in the bathroom , where he lives and the way his life is and they could possibly relate to that and are therefore are hooked onto the film and wanting to see how the protagonist deals with his way of life.

The drama - the audience see a lot of drama and tension in the trailer between the protagonist and several others, this may pull them in to watching the film if drama interests them, it also creates an enigma, the audience will be wondering why this male and female characters from the state acts the way they are.

How does the trailer for Ill Manors balance plot and spectacle?

It's memorable as the way the trailer is shown. By the effective use of lighting it's shown contrastively and grabs the audiences conception. The things he says, his actions is unforgettable and predictable as in society today this is what typical teenagers say and do. This  frames the story-line more as we see different aspects which gets us thinking.

Think about the certificate of Ill Manors (18 certificate). Research film certification and outline what is deemed acceptable for this certificate. What is the difference between a 15 certificate and an 18 certificate?

An excellent film showing the social underclass at work and play in East London. It is very depressing as there seems to be a non stop treadmill of individuals with no hope or expectations.
15 rated certificate allow moderate violence, gore and sexual activity but not too frequent and must be relevant. Drug taking is not banned but should not be promoted. A few cuts to get a 15 may have been a better idea to get a good story across to a much wider audience.
An 18 rated certificate allows gore, violence, sexual activity and drug taking as long as the film does not promote these things. Excellently acted the despair is heart breaking. A story that needs a wider audience. Sadly I fear that the people who need to see it won't be able to do so becuase of the 18 cert.

Evaluation of My group's Preliminary Exercise

Evaluation of My group's Preliminary Exercise.

We as a group came up of an idea for the preliminary exercise which consisted of short opening of a boy who walks throuhg the door and to this girl office. They have been planning a plot which no-one knows about which makes the scene mysterious. I worked in a group with Maram and Naima. The fist shot starts off with a boy walking through the door, it starts off with a close up shot of his feet which could be significant as it could symbolise danger, and this gets an impression is one of the iconography of its genre ( Crime drama).
The brief also mentioned that we had to shoot match on action and the 180 degree rule which was one of our strong point, we used close up shots For example, the close up shot of his hands was to create an enigma code, it wasn’t the best enigma code, however it did make the audience engage with us and question themselves to why he looked nervous and we used medium shots which were significant as they showed their face expressions which built tension, also the match on action was shot excellently. It looked realistic and made the audience engage more.

From watching our preliminary exercise one thing we learnt is that we should have filmed in a quite area, because looking back at it we realised that the Audio wasnt great, and that made it look really unprofessional however, this wasnt the problems as  its not the real task but something to think about when doing it . Also the story line of our short extract was that it was supposed to be mysterious however it was in a location which was full of people laughing and talking which made it look unrealistic.

In addition to our 'WWW' our two characters acting was on point and it really made the extract look realistic, the characters face expressions linked to the story line, and the audience didn't get confused to whether it was comedy or serious . More than that the continuous editing was fantastic and it really made it look realistic as if it was all happening at one time.  Furthermore, we thought the story board was really helpful because it actually helped us in shooting the extract and knowing what to shoot next.  Also the shot list helped us to figure out how many shots we needed. By having the story board and shot list it help us film quicker and easier.

This preliminary exercise has helped us make our weakness into new strength   Our group have learnt new things which will help us in the future and we picked out mistakes that we had not recognised really helped us in improving our work for the real exercise.

On the same charting week, "Ill Manors" débuted at number three on the UK R&B Chart behind Chris Brown's "Turn Up the Music" and Nicki Minaj's "Starships'

    Music reviewers' response?

It took me a while to get on board with the idea of watching Ill Manors, only finally being convinced after hearing a host of very strong reviews. Ben Drew’s debut behind the camera turns out to be a very smart and assured take on the whole London gang thing, not avoiding all the clichés but handling them well when doing so.
East London was my home for the first 30 years of my life so I easily identify with the area, culture and ideologies of the kids in the region yet I am always very cautious of films talking about the problems of living in and around a council estate. In fact, I haven’t even sat down to watch Kidult or Adulthood as I’m not sure I can deal with the ‘blud’ and ‘YaGetMe’ overload.
As Plan B, Ben Drew has carved out a very successful music career, at first skimming the edges of the charts with his debut album before changing tack two years ago and crooning his way into the top ten, most notably with She Said. Ill Manors is a concept piece combining  stories set inDrew’s home borough Forest Gate, with songs based on each of the characters, using his raps to visualise their backgrounds.

Media Form: what Techniques does the video use to establish the setting and to engage the audience?

The techniques this music video uses in order to establish the setting and engage the audience is by the use of mise-en-scene. Firstly, Customes; The way the characters were dressed in this music video told us about the lifetyle and location that group were living in. Secondly the Editing: This music video is a typical video track with iconography of a typical music video. The video expands upon the themes of the song, and uses footage from the 2011 riots in London in this music video, the way they have edited the music video gives the audience different message from the one we all got on BBC news about teenages and also challanges this sterotype through editing informing adults that teenagers are not all criminals and violent. Furthermore, this music clip is also stereotyping teenagers these days, as we all know society thinks teenagers are the reason why people can't feel safe when their out because of the trouble teenagers commit on the street, however Plan B makes it clear in his music video that not all teenagers are the same and not all of them take drugs and cause trouble and not all of them who lives in council estate with single parents are threats to society. ' oi look there's a chav, that means council housed and violent '  This is a typical stereotypical line from the music video due to the fact that nearly everyone thinks in the same way, everyone thinks that people who live in council estates means violence, drugs and crime, however this isnt always the case.

Moreover, the lyrics are effective in this music clip, this is because the lyrics link to the life we live in today and links to the thoughts and ideas society has today. One part of the lyrics which i think is very effective is ' oi , i said oi , what you looking at you little rich boy'.  This is very effective as plan B is referring to the rich people, politicians Also the lyric  'hug the hoodie' which challange this sterotype, who are unware of  ( David Cameron etc ).  Thridly, the sound: This music video a has a good pace for teenage audiences this is because the beat is up to the teenagers standards, the beat is fast which makes the teenage audience engage into the music video and build tension. Lastly, the camera work:

Media Representation: how is gender, ethnicity, age represented in the video?

This music video is dominan representation ; teenagers are represented to be crinimals and violent which reinforce sterotypes also preffered reading which say maybe we should challange the past. In addition, the gender which is being portrayed are boys/teenage boys. This is to emphasize that teenage boys are the trouble makers which commit violence and crime. The media prresentation of teenagers in society today is usually exaggerated in the media, which is known as moral panic. Moreover, ethnicity is represented in the video by portraying a mix of white and black people, this is to show that they are the main ethnicity who gets involved in violence and crime. In the video there is no other ethnic groups such as Asian's this is to portray to the audience that they are not usually part of this violence. Furthermore, there is only a shot of one girl who's holding a lighter in her hand which could portray that some girls are like this which goes against the politicians expectations but it's mostly teenage boys and the age which is represented in this video clip are teenagers, varies from the age 10 to 18.

Media institution: in what ways is the video typical of music videos and what values does it promote?

This music clip is a hip hop protest song, to show society's thoughts about teenage crime and violence. Plan B is anti-government as he doesn't believe what government is doing is right, and also believes that the government themselves think that there is a lot of  teenage crime and violence. More than that there is the theme of ' counter hegemonic' , these are groups of people who do not start off as radical or extremist groups; they encourage people to share their view against hegemony through the use of propaganda whilst raising awareness. This is used in the music clip as Plan B tries to send his point across through propaganda/ music clip/ song. As the music is build up with different types of shots ( sharpe and quick) with the main character singing and preforming, this makes the music video very typical and similar to the rest of the industry as it also has a narrative to it.

Media Audience : who does this text/ artist appeal to and why?

The psycographic group that this music track would mostly be for strugglers- as they want to escape and are more likely to be physically agressive, Also be in the psychographic group explorers - as they enjoy/like taking risks and take part in dangers activities. The socio economic group they would be in is D-E. They are people that are primarily  unskilled workers and and most half little education. unlike the C who have school leaving degree. I think that this Text/artist appeals to everyone at any age, in my opinion, this music video  would be aimed mostly at educated/high status adults which  they are aware of society's thoughts and idea's against teenagers, also so it could raise awareness.
