Campaigns that are banned by the USA.

Campaigns which have caused controversy, been banned by the USA.

Department of Health – UK

This poster shows people- with fish hooks through their mouths to illustrate being "hooked" on cigarettes. Which could be quite understandable for adults however, it was Banned as it can frighten and distress children as the men looks like his in pain. Complainants found the images offensive, Also the Department of Health's TV commercials, posters and press adverts prompted 774 objections from the public.
The ASA quoted – that the posters had highlighted the "perils" of tobacco addiction and the dangers of smoking, but added: "... because they were untargeted, and realistically and graphically showed the piercing of the cheek with a hook, they were likely to frighten and distress children."

 Diesel - UK

08 march 2006. The Diesel advert featuring a naked man's body being straddled by three pairs of women's legs, has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority. It was  Banned because its sexual image was likely to cause serious or widespread offence and was unsuitable in a magazine that could be seen by children

From my research, i have found out that the reason behind why this advert was banned.' The Italian fashion house claimed that the image, which is no longer running, was intended for an adult audience who would have understood the irony and fun it represented. However, the ASA ruled that the position of the women in relation to the man's body clearly alluded to sexual behaviour and it was likely to cause serious or widespread offence.'

The Rules of Attraction (movie) - USA

This movie poster  was Banned by the USA as the copulating toys were considered offensive and obscene. poster was banned in the United States, it was allowed in both Canada and Great Britain.  when it comes to sex, sexual innuendo, or anything else related to sex, the United States demonstrates its repressive nature with this sort of censorship. Undoubtedly, the rationale used here was connected to the fact that these were children's toys in adult positions.
